Caffeinate: Keep Your Screen Awake with Ease
Caffeinate is a free Android app developed by Russell Richardson that allows you to keep your screen awake by creating a Tile in your Quick Settings. This feature is only available in Android Nougatand higher. Once toggled, the app will keep your screen active for five minutes, which you can adjust by tapping the tile or changing the default time in the settings. After the time is up, your screen will continue sleeping normally.
Caffeinate is very similar to CM's and now LineageOS's caffeine function. A notification is posted when the app is activated (and removed when the timer hits zero) to prevent the service from being killed. You can disable notifications for Caffeinate by long-pressing the notification and choosing to block all notifications. However, this option will remove the quick cancel option. By default, Caffeinate has an app launcher icon like any other app on your phone, but you can choose to hide this icon through Caffeinate's settings menu.
